This panel discussed how the EU Knowledge Center could enhance an integrated and policy-driven approach to preventing radicalization, especially in today's changing and fragmented threat landscape. This panel delved into the changing nature of the threat posed by lone actors. It is crucial to better understand the factors that motivate their actions. What drives them to commit violent acts? How do online propaganda, hate speech, and conspiracy theories influence them? Is there a link to mental health issues?

Session 3: Responding to geopolitical developments:
Reviewing security strategies in the EU.
Participants deliberated on the implications of geopolitical crises at both national and local levels and will assess the need to update existing strategies and devise new approaches to meet new challenges.

Session 4: The fight for hearts and minds: How to effectively prevent the radicalization of minors.
The incidence of radicalized minors is on the rise. This panel was dedicated to examining the effectiveness of current strategies to address this urgent problem, particularly in countering online radicalization, and to identify areas for improvement. In addition, it aims to delve into the underlying factors that attract minors to violent extremism and investigate alternatives that can steer them away from such harmful paths.
