The AVT participates in a UN international meeting on disability inclusion in terrorism contexts

The Asociación Víctimas del Terrorismo took part in the online international meeting “Disability Inclusion in Vulnerable Target Areas: the Perspectives of Victims of Terrorism”, organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism within the framework of its Global Programme to Counter Terrorist Threats against Vulnerable Targets.

During the session, best practices and recommendations were discussed to incorporate disability inclusion into preparedness, response, and recovery phases in emergency situations. The meeting placed special emphasis on the experiences of victims and survivors of terrorism, highlighting the need to ensure the protection of their rights in times of crisis.

The importance of strengthening resilience among affected individuals was also underlined, promoting inclusive policies that address the specific needs of those who have suffered the consequences of terrorism.

Through its participation in international forums such as this, the AVT reaffirms its commitment to defending victims’ rights and promoting a comprehensive and inclusive response to terrorism.
